Egads this is intimidating but I'm all for it. I'll hit the ground running. :)
Update, still roughing out the sides and roof obviously. I liked the idea of war ravaged so maybe going to do sort of an ex-bunker that too has been overgrown. Just a rough of what is going to be happening. Going to also have like sandbags and military banners along with vegetation and such.

Just try your best mate i'm sure you'll do well, contests like this are more for learning new skills and pushing yourself that bit further, Whats more you'll end up with a cool piece of portfolio work.

Gonna try for a cave thing instead, liked the look more than the war theme. Still figuring out lighting, perspective that sort of thing, but this is where I'm goign to go instead. So any ideas would be great, maybe have an alien presence but not sure yet. :)

hey this is nice. If you find a good transition between the entry and the church it is going to work. How about melting those caveparts with the church by giving the arches this cavelook ?

nice concept, but I think the right foreground rock is invading too much of the main architecture detail in the background

Yep Jaime's right about the rock, i don't think it need pulling back, maybe it would be better to bring the building into the center just a little so you get more of the right side.
Maybe wouldn't have so much light from the left windows, only a few rays just given slight impressions and hints of the building.
Need to work on the intergration between the entry and the building. The perspective doesn't feel quite right as it stands.
Be great to see how this develops, good idea and lots of potential :)

Thanks guys, yeah it's just a couple steps above a collage right now. The windows will pretty much be gone and the light source worked out. You're right about the rock, I'll def. get more of the architecture in there. I was thkning about "melting" the roof and walls a lot from years of dripping water so definitely going to make the transistion work with lots of mineralization and things like that, just wanted to get good ideas early, on, thanks!

another concept sticking with the cave theme. Really want to work on the whole dripping water/moisture atmosphere. The perspective with the water and nhm is off, looks like the whole thing is underwater but I'll fix that soon. but just wanted to post to get some ideas.:)

Oh no u removed the cave opening ...i thought it gave a good sense of depth.....I think u should keep it....just a suggestion :)

Ok, so finally working it out. Still need work (and a ceiling). Also still need to figure out lighting and the waterfalls. but so far, I'm liking it. Let me know what ya think!

cool so far. The waterfalls are great. I think its hard to see that theres a church in the cave. maybe adding some light in the dark arches helps to clear it up more.
