View Full Version : IFF to RLA
rartist 04-11-2007, 05:58 PM I have footage provided for me, rendered in IFF that I'm going to be putting together in AE. The IFF's have a Zdepth that I'd like to use to do some DOF effects, but AE won't use the Zdepth in a IFF (dumb absent feature, Adobe!). Fcheck will port IFF to RLA at the cost of the alpha. Is there another way around this?
I tried extracting the Zdepth and using the Set Channels to try to bring in that alpha, but AE doesn't have the option for that to define the Zdepth.

You can use the Alpha channels using any of the matte modes once it has been separated/ exttracted. Should not pose a problem at all. As for your other problem - use 3D channel extract to get the Z-depth, then use Compound Blur, the Lensblur effect or any other lens filter based on grayscales.
