I'm trying to figure out the quickest way to create a number of clothing items for a model... I was thinking of somehow duplicating the character mesh and slightly offsetting it (not scaling) then deleting the bits of mesh that are not needed.

Is there any way to do this in maya or is there a better way to do this?
