Hi guys,

I made some tests with fumefx and got these results -
test1 (http://www.yonathan3d.com/temp/fumefx/1.mov)
test2 (http://www.yonathan3d.com/temp/fumefx/2.mov)
test3 (http://www.yonathan3d.com/temp/fumefx/3.mov)
test4 (http://www.yonathan3d.com/temp/fumefx/4.mov)
test5 (http://www.yonathan3d.com/temp/fumefx/5.mov)

In test 5 I aimed for a cigarette puff but as you can see It's not really there.
One thing I can't figure out is how to get thin and detailed smoke as seen in those fumefx samples (the one with the smoke pouring over a box with the logo inside), I tried lowering the spacing amount gradually but at some point it didn't show improvement so I asumed the answer is somewhere else... any ideas?

thanks,
Yoni

Thanks for the comments.

goalieman392 - I did play with the opacity, but it's not what I meant, I'm trying to reach a smoke with lots of small turbulences and thin edges, and not the bulky smoke I have now.
My referece is this - http://www.afterworks.com/FumeFX/anims/smoke.avi

cezmikardas - Thanks :)

visual-chaos-fx - Thansk, I'll try uploading it tonight

good start. if your sharing files then please see cgfluids website. the official support forum for fume. there is a great community, and I have shared alot of my explosion scenes for users to dig into. would be great to get more people uploading there stuff

Hi Tim, thanks.
I looked into cgfluids, I couldn't find where to put my files. Or maybe I need to resgiter first to see all forums?
Do you have any ideas how to create a more detailed simulation?

register first, then email afterworks and the admin on CGFLUIDS, with your purchase code and they will add the Fume Support to your user account. you will then gain access to all files.

i dont really like the idea of giving my serial number and such to some random site.. is there any other way?

They're not a random website... they're actually fully supported by sitni sati for the fume side of things. Rif is a big time fx guy / sitni sati software tester and whatnot... they're really close to say the least. :) He also has communication with turbosquid, and that's why he asks for your serial, because he can actually confirm that you purchased it.

I'll vouch for cgfluids.com it's a great resource/troubleshoot community!

Nice tests Yoni. If you want more detail lower your grid spacing value, it is almost as simple as that, of course there are a bunch of other tweeks you can do, but simply put the tighter the grid spacing the finer the detail.
