Hello all!
House of Cards is a short film that I created some time ago, but it wasn't until recently that the sound and music was finished.
Now it is  - and I would like you to take a look at it on my website and give me some feedback on it. Good things as well as bad things :)

It's about 12 mb so please be a bit patient :)

Claus.

I really liked it :). very good story there, he looks like such a care-free character. Well until the trains ticked him off ;)

I've plugged it for ya  more crits later.

BTW you should really submit this to the 3D Awards, it's going to be right there in Copenhagen! Link up top ;)

nice job

nice job. alll around, I enjoyed this. good concept, good timing, good models. I did find the animation a bit stiff though. the environment and setup was so nice, that I just felt like the actual animation didn't meet the standard set by those. it wasn't BAD, just not quite to par with the rest. But like I said, overall, nice job. I'll enjoy waching this over and over.
so, for what that's worth.

That was very nicely done. Very Clean.

The only thing that threw me off was before the last train went by, the animation had me thinking that the track had already been destroyed by the explosion. It's not a big deal.

I thought the final sequence was clever though.

Good Job! :)

Good stuff, man. Really solid animation, and nice effects overall.
Worthy of the front page.

Nice to see that you got it out, and you really should submit it to the 3D awards (and see if you can get som free tickets to the evning show:D). But it is a nice short. As I have said before, I really like the warm colors and nice fealing it has. Great work. :applause:

That was great, mate!
How long do you think it took you from beginning to end?
I agree with the comments about the 'stiffness' in some of the animation, but overall I thought it was very nice.
Well done.

Nice short. I liked the environment, plot, etc. The things that I didn't like are: the style of the character, some of the animation wasn't as good as the rest, and one thing that REALLY weirded me out is when he shut those doors, the first he shut with his hand, but the second just seemed to magically shut when he twisted his torso. Didn't quite get that...

Like I said earlier, I really dug this short, everything worked really well together. The only thing I would suggest is too give the old dude a bit more expressions, more elastic if you will. I think it would sell his character better :) Very nice

You have received the CGtalk choice award .Please feel free to display this image anywhere you like! Incredible work.

upon receiving this award, it guarantees you a spot in the cgtalk gallery hall of fame (http://gallery.cgtalk.com) - which you are now placed

hahahahaha, That was one funny animation. I have to agree that the old man should have better expressions. Also with that much explosive I would have expected a MUCH bigger bang, considering the train was in many little parts.

Overall great work! Sooo funny :D

Thanks everybody for your very nice comments.

Some of you mentioned that the animation was a bit stiff. I can only say that I agree with you, and that that was actually a thing that has made me hesitate to show it anywhere for a while.

But as I mention on my website, this was my first real character animation, and though I feel that I have improved my skills quit a bit in this field since then, I thought it would be a waste not to let anybody see the finished film.

And a big thanks to CGtalk for putting my film on the front page and for the award. I appreciate it very much :) :) :)

Regards,
Claus.

I loved it. It reminded me of Wiley Coyote and Road Runner. Very imaginitive. I can see where people are saying the animation seems a little stiff but since its consistent all the way through I just chalked it up to the style.
Great Job.:applause:
