Title: The Still of the Moment
Name: Colette Cassidy
Country: Ireland
Software:

Done in Daz|Studio with store products. The sky is a background image.
Sometimes I don't have an image in mind when I start until I place something in a scene, this time the buildings. It gave me an idea of a moment when everything seems to stand still and nature becomes time. I liked the way the sun on the horse turned out.

This is not flaming, I repeat, not flaming.. but..

What did you actually do to create this picture?

And some technical things:

1. The horse has a weird pose on the neck. See it? It bulges on the middle..
2. The shadows are wrong. Since we have the sun directly in the eyes, the shadows should be towards us.. no?

3. The scene is too clean. Since you don't have to spend time modelling stuff, you could use more time to set up the scene.. and it's not that hard in Poser to put some people in there. I would also like some more interesting poses.

Considering how simple the scene is and that you have put very little effort in it, I have to give this 1 *.

This work have potential L33tace ^^

But I think you should work the composition and find a way to add more depth in your image..

It not a detail question, even the simplest picture can be attractive with a good composition..

Again this work have potential . Keep on !

Daz|Studio is magical, you just wish a scene, what objects you want added, where to position them then click a button and hey presto it appears! it even works out the lights, edits materials, add cameras all on is own. :p

i don't notice the bulge
umm, the sun is more at a right angle than direct?
i didn't want people in the scene, for the same reason i didn't add any 'life' coming from the buildings.

so you own and use Poser seeing as you know how it works, heh
(though i don't see any images in your portfolio)

alright, thanks guys for your time and comments. :)

Well.. it's there.. hehe :)

>umm, the sun is more at a right angle than direct?

It's quite evident that your lightsource isn't aligned with the "sun".
Look at my attachment. The black lines is where I expect to see the shadows.. the blue are where yours are. ok?

Yes, I used if from v1 until v4... I think.
Though, it's limitations and bugs made me stop.

okie dokie, i see what you mean. i should have edited/rotated the background image to fit in with the lights or else moved the lights. thanks. :)

Poser and D|S are different, D|S is more simplified (to me) and still developing and that brings some restrictions with it, having said that i much rather work with D|S anyday as i never took to Poser.

/now i've gotta to go bring that horse to the Vet to get that bulge looked at :p.
