Like any other new youngin to modelling ive self taught and been told to start with box modelling. It worked and works fine for random still objects and the like but when it comes to pass the threshhold towards organic modelling i seem to hit a brick wall with my head.

I do try to get the right shapes and curves in where it matters but it still looks too boxy (autosmooth helps but...) and connecting/cutting does most of the tricks to round stuff out.

however i think its time for me to go to something more adept towards organics but im not sure of which technique is moreso appropiate ( there is no "wrong" i know ).

Ive found myself having a decent good time modelling a car or two with just simple planes.

Ive also tried the whole shape stuff but its still a bit confusing since ionly did it once and seems to have a bit too many twists/turns that i need to delve in before the actual volume is created to work with.

Any kind of advice or pointing in the right direction would be appreciated. Till then, practice makes perfect.

I know you want to try a different way of modelling but this Car boxmodelling tutorial by LionTR. Its a very very good tutorial and there may be something you have missed in it:
