They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.

ended up trying to make something a bit tighter than usual, blocking out form and playing with texture - youll see I relied heavily on my ref (http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/6712/venicebridgeofsighs844vz2.jpg) and yea a 1point perspective is pretty weak, but its the first time ive used a perspective grid.

Long time without drawing, took me my sweet time to do this one...
Trying to force myself to be more "solid" and saturated than usually

Aelwine - thats brilliant! Im in awe of you!
Daniel68 - great expression - the angle looks quite telescopic lens?
Eurayo - beautiful fantasy look!
Daw - scary technology - it will destroy us all!!
Gulkan - very calm - but how did you do that great paintery look in ps? Layer style emboss?
wexter - nice colours and great atmosphere
Nelius - challenging angle man
Medhi - great colour variation - your final work is a great step from your 50min one - nice decisions!
paolodelarosa - a classic bridge! - it just screams DANGER!
Robertt - :surprised I think telemaco would like your quirk for this one! good original thought - I like the colour patterns
El-Rodente - your sketch makes me feel warmth in the darkness
mitchelhunt - forgive my intrusion :D - but I think that overall your pictures show 'loneliness with a hope of freedom' - what do you think? - Im probably wrong,
republika - didnt want to leave you without a comment! - hmm 'dramatic' tell me what is the story behind that?

daw, embryotic, aelwine - thank you for comments guys. Also to answer your question, embryotic;
it is a very simple process. I start with grayscale document and work out the forms with the standard PS "paint brush oval", set to multiply for dark values / normal or screen for light values. Then I create a new color layer to experiment with coloring possibilities. After that I combine these two layers and use the smudge tool with a simple custom brush to refine the forms and blend the colors. Finally go back to paint brush oval to add some sharpness/contrast here and there. Maybe put it through the sharpen filter couple times. that's all. does not work every time though. ;)
BTW check this.

embryotic - Hmm...I've never realized that. Is that bad? Does it make me look like I have no personality? Aaah now im worried! :bounce:
embryotic

mitchelhunt - lol - man I dont know - but WOAH you're 10 years younger than me, so I was just commenting on how subliminally parts of your personality end up in your pictures - OMG what am I rambling on about.... ? anyway your sketches are beyond anything I did when I was 16
Gulkan - Cool! ill definitely give that a go - thankyou :)
