Vertice Selection Difficulties

Only thing that quickly comes to mind is rotating the view

yea,,.. i was rotating all aroudn the place for a solid 5minutes. Really frustrating.

The vertice was in an awkward place. Its at times like that I wish you had the option of directly marquee selecting the vertice rather than rely on the way it chooses the vertice for you.

Not sure about in the other camera modes,
but in Blender mode,just hold down shift and marquee select the vert.
If you have smart highlighting on,just remember to enter vertex mode first.

also use edge loop -> grow edge loop

to get into hard to reach areas :)
