View Full Version : Character/Soldier
ComatoseWolf 03-09-2003, 06:43 AM Here is a guard I was working on a while back, I finished rigging him and was wondering how i should do the head. He needs to be able to talk, so should i rig the head with bones, or just cut it off and animate it with morph targets? Any sugestions on that would help alot, also any C&C on the model is welcome too.

Yeah i was messing around with the depth of field and it came out kinda strange. Meanwhile i've started texturing the head and this is what i've got so far. Having some problems matching up the colors to look realistic, he usually turns out kinda pale. C&C are more than welcome as usual.

Good start overall. The only thing I see that is really jumping out at the moment is that the plane changes around the nasal flaps are too sharp. He's weird, but he works!

-Darius43321 - I guess you are right he doesn't look much like a typical soldier type character, but i didn' treally want him to be one. He is kinda the screwup clone flunky that got shipped out to bumsville because the army had nowhere else to put him. He is totally inadaquate at his job which ultimately leads to his death. If i made a serious looking soldier i really don't think i could have stressed that point without adding in some body animations or background story.
-Son of Octropos - Thanks i hadn't really noticed how fast the nostrils curved back, the shadows on that area look kinda messed upso i'll have to work on that.
Here is a minor update, the front/back texturing of the helmet piece. Been having some problems making it look like real metal, what do you think.
