Hi all,
I've been cranking on a little problem for awhile. I'd like to have true freely deforming cartoon eyes for a charac. This seems like it would be simple enough if layout had a lattice deformer (a la http://www.comet-cartoons.com/toons/3ddocs/eyerigging/ for MAX) but no such luck and I haven't discovered any such plug-ins. I did, however, find this tutorial by Adrian Gray(http://www.lightwaveoz.org/Content/Scenes/Images/ToonEyes.zip) which is great but is pretty complex. I'd invite anyone to take a look as it offers some great insight into morphing, expressions, etc.
Basically the concept that the bottom of the eyes are locked down while the scale and top of the eyes are free to "roam" with eyelids that deform with it while also retaining the ability to blink is what I'm searching for. Any insight would be appreciated.
So far I'm at a loss for an easier solution (but I'm still tryin').
