Title: C-47s Flying through flak bursts
Name: Donald Drennan
Country: United States
Software:
This is a still from a scene that I created for the film "Horrors of War". It is entirely cgi, created in Lightwave 3D and composited in After Effects. The landscape is primarily texture maps on a flat plane. I created the flak bursts with Hypervoxels.

is it part of a cinematic? because it needs more texturing maybe even add a hit plane crashing or going down in the background

No, this is a still from a film I worked on.
More texturing? Where exactly? Could you be more specific? Anyway, I won't be doing anymore work on this because it's already in the finished film, which should be released on DVD this summer.
Because this is a scene in a film, I needed to follow the script, which called for two planes. At this point, they have just begun to be shot at with anti-aircraft guns. Directly after this, paratroopers jump out. Take a look at my portfolio for more scenes, or better yet, my website for the entire scene.
Thanks,
Don

That was a combination of bones and morphing, with a slight displacement map to make the cloth ripple.
