Title: Nuts & Bolts
Name: Chris Hegarty
Country: USA
Software: Wings3D

I had some screws on my desk from a hard drive that catastrophically failed, and I thought it would make a cool render. This is also the first big render I've done using POV-Ray. I was a little unsatisfied with the noise in yafray images so I'm checking out other renderers, free of course. :) I'm pretty pleased so far with POV-Ray.

Two area light sources, indoor low-quality radiosity.

I see one of the reasons for the catrostrophic failures.....the large lock washer is for a left hand thread and some of the other fasteners appear to have "odd" threads also. Is the picture flipped horizontal?

You can tell the thread direction just by looking at the picture?! That's impressive!

Actually, the screws are all standard. If anything, I just didn't model it correctly. :) And only the smaller ones were involved in the, uh, "incident".
