View Full Version : Bitmap Crash
EckoModeler 03-09-2003, 01:35 AM ok, this has been racking my brain for the past 2 days, i have a scene set up with a building mapped with a multi/sub-object material, the maps are 2000x400 24 bit bmps, as soon as i hit render, no matter what renderer i am using when it finishes, it tells me that max is shutting down due to an error and saves my scene into the autobak folder. i have no idea what is wrong, please help me. i have the scene and the bitmaps uploaded on this page:
http://eckomodeler.netfirms.com/
bitmaps are 2.2M each
thanks

nm, figured it out, theres some kind of conflict between finalrender and brazil, uninstalled finalrender and works fine now.
i would encourage anyone having trouble with brazil who has finalrender installed to remove it.

Heya,
That's odd - unless you are actually using Brazil r/s, it doesn't come into play at the rendering stage.
Even using, say, the Brazil Test material should be absolutely safe in any other renderer.
So if you have both Brazil r/s and finalRender installed, I'd be quite baffled if you'd get crashes just from rendering with finalRender.
I'm not sure what the situation the other way around is, as I don't know how finalRender works, technically.
I do know it sticks something into the scene which lurk there forever even if you don't use finalRender - trinity3d has a removal utility for that.
Ermm.. or had.
http://trinity3d.com/productinfo/FinalRender/fRUtil/fRUtil.shtml
Was the URL, which is now 404.
http://www.trinity3d.com/download/sb-fRUtilities%20v115.ms
Appears to be the script, but lacks the removal utility. *sigh*
So here's the pertinent information from our chat's logfiles :
deleteTrackViewNode trackViewNodes.finalRender
Which came with a warning reading "This will remove all finalRender functionality from your scene which may result in errors when trying to render.\nAre you sure you want to do this?"
Hope that helps, if at all.
Best regards,
Richard Annema
You can open a new secen to merge this build secen.
Or use export this model as 3ds,the import this 3ds file.
My computer's RAM<=128M
