Title: Her ring, give me her ring...
Name: Alonso Pérez
Country: Mexico
Software: Painter, Photoshop

Well what can i say about this picture... i did it based in previous works, its about a blind princess who is exiled from her kingdom by a malicious sorcerer and she is condemned to wander alone in dangerous lands. The only memory from her lost kingdom is her little ring.
I planning to narrate this story on separate ilustrations, from the exile to the defeat of the witch (i love stories with a happy ending sorry!) passing through a variety of scenaries and situations like i show in this one, where our princess is under a spell from these (bad or good) faeries who apparently want her ring. But why this ring is so special?

Really like the feeling of filtering sunlight Alonso. Very atmospheric.

It'll be interesting to see the sequence if you get time to do it.

Great work! Beautifully done. The little fairies are great! Also I like the storyline you have for her. Good luck to you and your story! - Rick

I like the story, but I think there are a couple of things you should improve upon. The contrast between the princess and the background is too stark, so it looks like she's been layered onto it, as opposed to sitting in the scene. If you bring some of the colours from the background into the shadows of the woman it might help.
I like the progress of the fairies down, but I the area above them is mostly blank, it makes the composition look somewhat imbalanced. Perhaps experimenting with cropping would help. The actual shadows on the woman aren't dark enough, considering the bright light from the top left. Also it's a good technique to put a more saturated red between the highlights and shadows of skin. I think Linda Bergkvist has a tutorial on that...if its not I think you'll find it on the tutorial pages here on CGtalk.
I do look forward to seeing more though. Good luck
