Title: Maison marais
Name: Yannick Rogeat
Country: France
Software: Maya, mental ray, Photoshop

I maked this image to test a render with only color + occlusion pass, no FG or GI, my computer was also able to render all the paintx (poly converted).

I work in architectural vizualisation, so this was an image to change my brain from "clean" renders with happy people ect :)

Great image, but need a little more contrast in my opinion!!
The render seems good and I like the plants!!

Great detail. I really like the texture and how you used DOF to focus on the trees instead of the building.

Hey good work Yannick !
a crit though, it's a little bit blured in background. In my mind, I'll focus on the house with veget blured in foreground. It's just my opinion.

On the wall behind, we can see the shadows of the leaves but the alpha map has not been calculated. The shadows have square geometry. Perhaps a problem with your raytracing setup.

So, there is something strange with the roots. Your camera seems to have a low focal length and that simulate the roots far away like the wall.
But the depth of field you used makes the opposite effect with a part of the roots. Actually It seems to be far away and near the camera in the same time.
Is that what you wanted to make ?

(Finally, what's new about you ?!)

See you !
