View Full Version : Broken camera in scene makes max crash on open!?
Eudaimic 03-08-2003, 11:06 PM I've got a scene that when I open it in max (5.1), max crashes (no messages or anything, just dump to desktop)!
I think I've isolated it down to being the camera by merging the scene into a new scene.
But that doesn't bring over environment settings, which is kind of a bummer as that's some of the most important stuff in that file!
So what do I do? Any suggestions?

then dont merge the camera.. sometimes max will "corrupt" an object. there's no "fix" for that though.

Usually I'd say MAX has performed intercourse on you and you'd just have to re-make the Environment settings.
But since you say it only crashes in OGL, can't you just switch to Software mode or something, go in and delete the Camera, and voila?

Anyway, I fittled around some, and suddenly it worked... after which I deleted the camera :)
Everything is back to normal.
Thanks though.

Good lord I mistook "!?" for "GL", ie. I thought it said "crash on opengl", not "open!?"
