CGTalk - Soften/Harden option not working anymore!

View Full Version : Soften/Harden option not working anymore!

I went away from my computer for a few minutes and some idiots gathered around my computer fooling around with it.

When I came back I found that they were screwing around with the "Dynamics" tab pressing random stuff. I ctrl-z everything and things were back to normal but the Soften/Harden option no longer works.

Can someone tell me what the problem could be?

You have to hit Soften/Harden for it to work.:surprised

Try selecting the model, then go to edit polygons > normals > set to face, then average verticies. I find doing this fixes any soften/harden oddities.

Moral of the story, save your work when you leave the computer!

try to start maya with your pres folder relocated to some temporary backup location
