Edit 2: It is for use with the stand alone version of BP. Not for use with C4D R10.1

This is a pure BodyPaint 3D R3 STANDALONE Update.

All CINEMA 4D users should be happy with the R10.1 update which has the BodyPaint 3D stuff included.

bodypaint standalone and 10.1 are essentially the same thing. I'm sure the reason for the different installers has more to do with preserving the default layouts etc during the installation process.
