View Full Version : Render issues in Maya
doppelganger 04-01-2002, 08:17 PM I rendered my rocket tutorial and I find strangely enough that it plays back as nearly slow motion in AVI! Its not the machine either since its a very fast p3. I even tried rendering out frames and having fcheck show them and its still slow. Also the dynamics of my rocket's fall and eventual rest on the ground are different in the final render than they are when I play it in maya (It comes to rest on the oppposite side than it does in playblast).
Any ideas?? At least how can I make the animation appear to be normal 24fps and not slowmo?
Thanks

first you should bake your dynamics to keyframes. (edit-keys-bake simulation)
after that you should check your animation preferences. make sure that it is not on free mode. set it to be 24fps or even click the "other" option and set it to 1.25 (which is 3o fps).
after that tweak your curves and then playblast it...that might fix your timming.
good luck

check that "Playback By" is set to 1
its under the timeline tab under Settings and Preferences.
also check that By Frame is set to 1 under render globals.

Well I checked the settings and prefs and they are as you reccomended as well as the Render Globals. Inetestingly the playblast appears to be the correct speed just the final render is loopy...
Do I have to bake th simulation before I render cause when I do it changes the dynamics simulation in little annoying ways.
Thanks all!
