hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum and ive decided to attempt to model john mcclane (thats right, another one) im pretty new at this but ill give it my best shot. ive spent alot of time on this so far and im fairly happy with how its going but i know theres always room for improvement so any comments/suggestions would be great. i am using 3ds max and zbrush if anybodys interested

looking great. Nice likeness in the features. But The forehead is way to big, just bringing the top of the head down a bit will sort that. His mouth looks a little low as well making the upper lip too long. Either just move it up as it is or move the middle part of the lips leaving the corners (this'll make him look pretty angry though). Anyway have a play around with that.

But all in all a great start and i think you've nailed the eyes and nose, but thats without looking at a pic of him :)

thanks stinger, i think your right about the head, and the mouth definatley needs some more work ill sort it out and post another picture

like what stinger said, you've got the general likeNess of him prettyGood....judging from this angle tho, it looks like the ears could do w/ someWork....and the mesh looks alil bumpy but that's not much of an issue...you seem to be going in the right direction, so just keep doing what you're doing...should be a good entry....post the refs you're using along with a front and sideView of the model for better C&C.....and welCome to the challenge!

thank you binder for the advice, i know what you mean with the ears i'll have to spend alot of time on them, ill probably try to get facial features sorted first though.

ive spent some time today working on the mouth. i have also made the forehead shorter but i think it still might be a bit big. anyway let me know what you think

made some small changes today. i have also ordered the die hard box set, so hopefully when that comes i will be able to get some good references and start making him younger.

hi, bottom lip was annoying me so i tweaked it a little, also pulled his brow in a bit.

lookin good but I think the cheeks still need a little bit of work right by the mouth to the lower nose...

thanks for the comment morphius. I had a look at the cheeks and i think they look better now, i have also raised the mouth a little, softened the chin and played around with the bit just under the eyes, im quite happy with it but i know there is still along way to go. i think ill tackle the ears next.

made a big change today, mainly to the head shape and eye area. but i didnt have much time to work on it so its riddled with flaws that ill try to sort out tomorrow, anyway thought i would share what ive done

hello everyone, ive altered the model again and im now quite happy with the head. next i will start on a bump map for the wrinkles, pores and eyebrows. i have slapped a quick texture and some hair on to make sure that im going in the right direction and i think that he definatley looks a lot younger now.

lookin good... but I still think the cheek line (not sure what it is called lol) is off... I think because it forms a perfect arch... other then that it looks great... I can really tell it is bruce

i havent had alot of time to work on this lately because i have a shed load of uni work i need to get done before 7th may. i hope i find time to get this finished before the competition deadline. anyway heres where im at with the head.
