View Full Version : Engineering Edition: anyone importing SolidWorks?
wesware 04-04-2007, 03:27 PM Are you using the Engineering Edition to import SolidWorks files using the Okino Polytrans plug? If so, would you be willing to talk with me on the phone (my dime of course) about it before I make the purchase?
Thanks for your time.

Ok, changing my requirements here.
Anyone using the Engineering Edition (not neccessarily for Solidworks)?
Can I ask you some questions. I would really rather put the $1495.00 towards a new computer if the EE isn't what I need.
Thanks!

hi wesware,
what is the format for solidworks files?
i've the EBundle r.9.5, (not the ''plus'' edition -> without okino client)
and it comes only with an .iges importer.
if it feets your needs then it's a lot cheeper than the EBundle plus.
ps: i could try to import a file of yours if you like and send it back to check ot out.

And I've got the (9.6) eng. bundle *with* the plus pack/okino setup. I believe, though, that if you don't have solidworks installed (I don't) that you still have some options, but they're limited. I'd be happy to chat on the phone or try something for you. Just PM me or whatnot.

Search on some posts, I've answered this query in depth a few times. If you are using the PT and expect SolidWorks files to be of high fidelity, forget it. There is a catch.
