View Full Version : Animation: Demo Reel for animator
Shootr 03-08-2003, 08:25 AM Hi
I am a Media Arts and Animation Major from Chicago. I just re-edited my demo reel and need some feed back.
I should preface by saying I'm focusing on animation skills.
take a look.

hehe man that's funny stuff. I think you have an entertaining piece there. However, from an animation perspective, potential employers might want to see more variety - like quadrapeds, inanimate objects, etc.. But if you're wanting to stick to humanoid animation, then you really have a winner! The movement was very smooth and believeable. And I really liked how you timed the editing.

thanks slooper,
That is my fear, I have other animations, but really what I have on the reel shows off my skills the best. So do I go for slightly less quality animation and more diversity, or less variety and just good animation? suggestions?

might I suggest doing a right click and "save target as"
that always seems to work best for me. and when you launch it, it will be a decent size and quality.

Pretty cool. But man I love the part of the scene from the Marx Brother's (when he's hopping by what is suppost to be a mirror). The Marx Bros. are my absolute fav. comedians. You had me right there. :applause:

congratulations Juggernaut,
you're the first person to recognize that that scene is taken from the Marx Brothers routine. (at least the first person to tell ME they recognize it). I actually have a longer version of it, but cut it down for demo purposes.
anyway, be proud.

This one's for you Juggernaut.
This is my extended version of the Marx Brother's routine. It's only about 10 to 12 seconds longer, but if you're familiar with the original I think you'll find it amusing.

I'm holding true to the original, so there is no sound.
enjoy!

That is pretty good. I love the dancing, especailly when it makes one transition to the other. Hope you find something soon. Who knows? I might see you in the industry.
