Music Visualization or VJ

I've been searching for certain music visualization or VJing. I know we are all used to the synchronized abstract music visuals in media player and milkdrop or whatever. but i was wondering if anybody has seen any good Visualization that include cartoons, symbols, pictures and just more or less less abstractness. I remember in my multimedia class my teacher showing me something like this, and it looked amazing, it was like the computer was doing the art work for us. But i can’t find anything like it. It might not have been automatically synchronized to the music, but none the less amazing.

You should check more specific sites like VJCentral (http://www.vjcentral.com) for this kind of questions. I'm certain there are many programs that are able to use pre-made graphics instead of procedurally generating them, but like all this stuff it's probably highly experimental and not very widely known. I'm sure the people there and on similar sites can help you much better.
