View Full Version : Animating a 6 legged character ?
Schwinnz 03-08-2003, 03:19 AM I'm trying to animate a 6 legged character and I'd like to know how to do it. It's pretty hard to animate the walk cycle and I haven't succeded so far to do something acceptable. I'll look later at my Monsters inc dvd but for now I don't have access to it...

That's ok I figured out myself.
Here's how you can do it:
The principle is that 3 legs support the body while the 3 other legs are moving.
let's say:
.1....2.
3......4
.5....6.
1, 4 and, 5 stay at the same place (supporting legs)
while
2, 3 and 6 move (to make it advance in a further action)
then the numbers are inversed and we can do a loop
