this is my entry for the cgchat futuristic assassin competition. i had posted in cgtalk since cgchat was down...at the time i posted it it was only at the concept stage so i put in the 2d/3d wip section. now ive started modeling i thought it would be better moved here. i will leave the old thread.

Great design , love the feet . Nice feel of power and gentleness all together ..... maybe being a girl in all !:)

Love it can't wait to see this in 3d ..... will it be animated ?

good mesh, i have a few crits bout it, though : i think you should define the breast area better, and crank up the size of the boots somewhat:)

i agree about the breast... they definetely need more definition... boots are fine i think.. she looks like she can kick some good shit with those..

i like the pelvis area in your 2nd drawing better than in your model, that is, seeing her delicate legs and then the clunky armor shes wearing.. the contrast between the two is bigger. but maybe its just the lighting on your 3d one.

good stuff cakey. cant wait for the textures.

Looks good...

I've seen some more assasins for this contest, but this one is my favorite at the moment :thumbsup:

Comments & Critque:
-Bigger boots

-Better defined & bigger boobs

-The face needs some work. Can't quite put my finger on it, but it doesn't resemble the concept much IMHO

-The fingers in the gun arm. Are you going to add them? If not, you should :p

Well, that's about it :)

BTW, someone is sooner or later going to ask you to put it in UT2003. It's the current rage, so be prepaired ;)

just a small update: been busy with other things...will get her textured asap.

ive made the boots bigger at the feet (and smaller at the calves)
ive added polys to the boobs and reshaped them.
mostly ive been doing uv work.
hellwolve: i'd love to keep the fingers in the gunarm but i cant spare the polys at the mo.... maybe i will de a revised version later (post competition) i think the head is pretty close to the main model sheet.... lets see what you think when its textured... i know what you mean though... it is a bit different. ignore the brown concept as it needs a lot of work doing on it.

the boobs seem to be a bit pointy. sorry for obsessing so much about them, but i think they are integral to the overal appeall of the character...
you know.. sex and guns. :P

otherwise: goodie goodie. if i didnt have enough other things to do iŽd ask for permission to give it a shot at a high res model.

i had a chap over on cgchat make a model from my concepts: hes using it in a mod. its another low resolution but its very nice to see how someone else approaches one of my designs.

One comment would be to put more of an "S" shape into the form, from the head to the butt.

well the competition is over in two days and i am at work for both of them. i will have to try and finish her off at night: / i am already knackered : i gotta get up for work in 5 hours :/ . arse.
here she is with textures. they are very wip so its kinda difficult to crit on i spose : some of the texture work isnt even 1st pass yet and all of it needs a lot more work !!
all comments will be very much appreciated. it would be good to know tomorrow if i am doing anything really wrong : so i've still got time to turn it around.
i doubt i will have time to get her looking how i'd like her to before the deadline so any areas of special attention would be appreciated. i.e. if i dont have time to paint all of her properly then which bits ought i concentrate on for maximum impact?
i hope you like how shes progressing....

Hey man. Nice work so far. I like her face, arms and boots. Maybe make it dirtier? Might add a little bit. Also really nice concept!

PS I finally put mine up for the comp... hopefully they'll alow me to still enter.

I'd concentrate on the face, and on the pieces between the armor. But that's just my two $ ;)

maybe i didnt quite notice it before but i think the progression from stomach to breast is a bit too abrupt, and i mean on the sides.. her stomach is all thin and then it suddenly widens for the breasts. i think the drawing had a much nicer smoother curve in it.

hope my mumbo jumbo makes sense.

and ooh ooh oooh... i just noticed something else and you might shoot me for that. i think her whole upper body is a bit too thin, giving her a bit of a weak appearance. i did a quick stretch with one of your renderings in photoshop and it seems to give her a lot more presence and force...

Absolutely awesome concept/work.
I do really like the look of her, but just
wanted to suggest not making the boots
bigger. Sorry just my 2 Cents. !

I just find that every game character (female)
has these enormous boots on that she could
prolly never walk/run in. I like the size you
have them at now, but any bigger would
be that overkill I'm suggesting maybe takes
away from the potential individuality she could
posess while standing beside another game char.

I really love your style. Keep it up dude!

well she is finished: the contest deadline has arrived.
i am knackered. been working as a roofer this week starting from 6am every day. finishing her has been a test of endurance in the evenings/late nights after work. *4 hours sleep a night for 3 days after manual labour all day hurts*
thanks to all of you for your critiques. you really were a genuine help!!

hellwolve: i took your advice and concentrated on the face/dark bits initially. i made more time for myself and was able to end up with a texture set that i am satisfied with. i even managed to do my firs ever softskin bind and in just a couple of hours. its not a perfect skinning but its done the job for now... whet my appetite for animating her a bit too

wilder. thanks for the considered crit. the boots remain untouched. i am glad you like her and that you feel she manages to not be a generic female game char.

stimpy. thanks again: i still havent tweaked the shape of her torso (as i'd skinned her) but i want to reskin so i shall make it a priority now.

I like the model but I'm not sure about the marks or rust on the armor. If someone has said this already please disregard but there isn't enough size variation in those marks. Her armor just looks kind of spoty and less dynamic. Try making some much bigger areas and varying it up a bit. Especially on the chest plate.

Akildee: cheers for the crit mate. i plan to tweak her a while before i put her in my portfolio and i agree with you about the rust: the deadline came up on us fast for the comp and so i had to stop before i was really satisfied with her. i shall be adding further detail to the textures as well as tweaking the bodyshape a touch. i will be sure to get some bigger rusted areas in there mate. it will be a while b4 update though: i am commited to a whole pile of concept work over the comming weeks.
