Hello all

I worked with a friend on a model that is known out of the Blade II film. The model itself is quite lowpoly, because it is for a game. While he did the model I was capable for the skin which was a real challenge, since the skin needed to look like chrome, and it was not too easy to achieve this metal looking effect.

Holy crap!!
nice textures... I did the same gun before the movie came out...but I couldn't get the textures right.
Nice work man...glad to see someone else was a fan. I think the gun is still badass.

Yeah, cool weapon mate! You're right, the texture maybe needs some overwork! That's why I prefer lowpoly models because I am placing all the refections by hand. Btw you have different chinese signs on the weapon, how come? I took close attention to the refpics on the official blade 2 page...
In my opinion the blade 2 gun simply rocks. Cool design, a gun combined with a knife, that's cool :wip:

Thanks man! yeah...I've put this gun in the "done" pile. I chose different characters becuase I didnt want to replicate the ones on the gun..I just found some on the net and used those. I got my refs from the blade 2 site as well....anyway good job man:thumbsup:

looks very nice. I'm not much of a judge but 1800 polys for a gun seems a wee bit high to me.

Savage_Henry: Hehe so let's hope that your 3 random signs have no insulting meaning in reality or so, I suppose you don't know chinese ;). Anybody from china/japany (???) can translate these letters? Would be cool :bounce: . Have you seen the shotgun on the Blade II page? It's a cool weapon, too...
robin: That's for what it's there ;) Have fun with it...
stephen2002: Well, you might be right, but I suppose this weapon will be used in Unreal 2's new Warfare Engine which can live with some more polygons ;)
KWAK: Thanks mate :wip:

Thanks for comments

yeah..never really thought about the negative meanings of the symbols...then again, I was wokring with 6 chinese guys while making it..they didn't say anything about the meaning.

yeah the shotgun is pretty sweet too. In fact, I loved everything from that movie. Just a really great sequel. So why did you chose to do a low poly version?

Didn't you post this about 2 months ago? i remember being blown away by it and downloading your tutorial.
...anyway, still a great model with great textures. keep em' comin'.

Adder: Damn right :wip:
Savage_Henry: The guy who made this gun will use it in a game developed for Unreal Warfare Engine. That's why it shouldn't be too highpoly. I did "only" the skin for him. So its our work ;)
requiem: Yeah right. I had some server problems and the tutorials were deleted. I was asked to reupload them again, so I did. As I see there are still many who didn't know them, so it was a right choice in my opinion...
