Well here it is. Lot's of new nods with icons itd. Great! It must be easy now... Well...

To connect bump map to mia material:

Create the following nodes: mib_passthrough_bump_map, mib_texture_remap, and mib_bump_basis. You also need to create a texture vector, and it is recommended that you do so by creating the mib_texture_vector node.
Connect mib_passthrough_bump_map.message to mia_material.bump.
Connect mib_texture_vector.outValue to mib_texture_remap.input.
Connect mib_texture_remap.outValue to mib_passthrough_bump_map.coord.
Connect mib_bump_basis.u to mib_passthrough_bump_map.u and mib_bump_basis.v to mib_passthrough_bump_map.v.
And then... don't know...
Are they MAD? This is simple? I guess they might reallly consider making things a bit more intuitive. No, well fine, but then where I'm suppose to learn all of this and remember it? Oh, my.
All I want to do is connect maya cloth procedural texture to mia_material. Since I couldn't figure how to do that, I'm trying to just connect picture to bump.

Then it created yet another node.

These are the errors I got:

// Error: (mental ray) : cannot convert to vector,Z,normal, motion, tag
// Error: (mental ray) : Z:/voda/sourceimages/curtainNormal.tga: can't open file for reading (The data is invalid.)

Oh, my... I know how to use hypershade with maya, dark tree, shaderman, etc. but this is really - well, silly?

End of rant... Sorry...

connect your bump node to a miss_set_normals that will then be plugged into the bump port of mia_material.

Thanks a lot!

How can I connect file texture to mia_material bump?

Thanks again!

Great! That was simple, I was looking an easy way to use a bump in mia_material.

Thank you!

There are probably lots of ways to do it, but I used a standard Maya 2D bump node attached to a procedural texture and plugged the bump2d outnormal to the miss_set_normal.normal.

I'm sure it will work the same way with a file texture to the bump2d.

Thanks a lot!
