is there a way to import bones, uv sets,and textures from milkshape into maya?. as of now i can only get the mesh to import? oh help me masters of cgtalk..

Hi,

you can import all meshes into maya with wavefront .obj. and I've written a small tool, called smd2mel.exe, which converts half-life SMD files into mel scripts, so you can import skeletons and animation.

You need to assign the mesh to the skeleton in maya, but this can be done automatically.

PS: I will look for that little program and upload it somewhere
