Has anyone managed to get WME to encode a jpg or bmp sequence? It works fine with uncompressed avi, but when I try a jpg or bmp sequence it just chokes on the 2 machines I tried it on.

This won't be the help you're looking for:

Why WME? I assume you're outputting to one of those MS codecs, wmf, or asf, or whatnot?
I think better and nicer formats are available.

Quicktime is nicely crossplatform and very web-streamable, imo moreso than what the Microsoft codecs can offer. And DivX compresses better if what you're going for is quality. And hell, even DivX is more crossplatform if I'm not much mistaken.

The thing I can think of right off the top of my head that you get only with .asf, is the ability to annoyingly spam the user by forcing the opening of a website when the movie is played. Mm, annoying-liscious.

You may have your strict specific reasons for why you need to go outside the realm of good ol' ordinary codecs, and fair enough if that's so. Otherwise I'm suggesting getting the hell out of Oz, so to speak, back to the land of normality and such :)
