I asked about fluid simulation in C4D before and i've checked out the "Add to the Sea" plug-in and the DPIT Nature Spirit plug-in. What I didn't look into was the dynamics module for fluid simulation. Would the dynamics module be a good alternative for this or is it better for hard and soft body only? I couldn't find any info on the Maxon site about fluid sim with the dynamics module so maybe that's my answer ;)

No, Dynamics is not suited for fluid simulations. You can use it to fake a surface of water for some uses (see the example scenes on the MAXON website).
For realy fluid dynamics Realflow is currently the only CINEMA 4D compatible option i know of.
