A wire frame please? This looks like a photo of a 1/18th scale collectors miniature. It's either really good DOF, lighting, paint shader or a complete fake out. I'd love to be proven wrong.

Good job with the model! Obviously there is some aliasing issues. And one other thing...the depth of field is a bit too dramatic for how far away from the object the camera appears to be. Other than those few crits, good work!!

When people argue over whether something is a photo or not proves that this guy must be good.
I don't think its a photo, the hubcap on the front right wheel looks odd. Also the paint texture looks a little flat. Also what is the deal with those funny colors on the grill on the lower right part of the car. No model or photo would have that.
Also, unless my eyes are seeing things, I can see a slight overlay of a wire frame over the windshield and on the hood of the car... it is faint, but its definately there.

wheres the wire?

Look at the gril under the headlight look at the colors, no way that is CG. Especially since what seems to be a wire frame to the right of the image seems wrong and badly aligned.
But then again could be wrong, a wire would be nice :)
On a second viewing; yep, that's a fake.
That's a fake. Nice try though

LMAO!! :applause:
You guys think its a photo?
I guess that is the best type of compliment you can get in the CG industry. Its like being called a cheater when you play an online even though you don't cheat. Because your score is so high and nobody thinks anyone is "that" good :)
Now to explain those few things you have brought up.
Some of the reference images I used had that funky color things going on in the grill under the lights. I'm not sure why it looked like that on the photo (some sort of light refraction maybe?), but to try and get it as realistic as possible I decided to copy that effect. When I unwrapped the car for texturing I physically drew in the colors in PhotoShop to try and achieve the same result.
As for the wire frame overlay not being perfectly aligned, I must blame PhotoShop. I rendered out 2 images. A normal GI, DOF rendered version and a wireframe version. In photoshop I put them on separate layers, with the wireframe being on top. Using a mask I faded between the 2. At the time I decided that the angle of the camera was to much, so in photoshop I rotated the rendered version layer, and forgot to apply the same amount of rotation in the wireframe image.
Anyway, when I get to work on Monday, I will post a wireframe image and an untextured version as requested.

Its really nice, very good modelling and texturing.
And how can you think its a photo? The bad aliasing and the typical 3d background makes me 99% certain that its a 3dmodel, the 1% comes from the others doubt :) Not to mention the lightning, if it was by a camera, it would be a blitz photo, and the shadow below the car wouldn't look that way, the shadow looks light a light source from above but the lightning looks more like blitz.
What would be funny though, is to add a reflection map with your camera(and maybe you holding it) reflecting on your cg model, to fool everyone to think its real :) No wait... dont use that, its my idea, Im gonna do it! :)
DId you model it with polygons? An unsmoothed wireframe would be cool!

hmm.. strange image, strange dof... looks like a gaussian blur done with masks in photoshop...
(crappy quality annyway ,the AA sux, sick colour tints)
bye 4 now... :surprised
i like to see a wireframe and a render from a diffrent angle
if its real... (if itīs real why ruin the image with a crappy Dof and scattered AA??)

easy guys... give the man a break till you've seen proof. the grill could be dont in post in photoshop without too much skill required.
having said that the overlayed wire is really low in detail and doesnt match the model but we shall see

I can't believe some of you think this is a real object. No to disrespect the quality of work but the flaws are huge compared to complete photorealism!

NOT a photo.
1) The wheel.
2) The headlights.
3) In real life, I've never seen a shadow like the one that car is casting.

How interesting.
I'm sure its cg, yet people insisting that it isn't is breeding suspiscion.
I suggest that rather than place a wireframe, you need to 1. Submit a recipe for a delicious chicken cassarole, then we shall ask you whether you infact designed the porkchop alliagnment at the beginning.
My Point? Well I'd like to see a wireframe. Just to show all these people that they're hypercritical.
Im suffering from the same suspicion. Guilty untill proven innocent!!

You guys caught me!!!!
I am sorry, my lie is exposed!
Yes it is a cg car, but it is blended with a photo
of a model TT I build and photograhed.
I wanted to compare and contrast, the 2 different techniques of modeling.

Anyway, here as promised is the wireframe image and a untextured picture.

Did you forget to upload them/ delete them by mistake after upload? It happends.
oh my oh my......what a coincidence...:curious: ........just kidding!!!well i donīt doubt it is cg coz there a lot of minor errors that can be seen..but they could've been made in photoshop...so,i'm a little suspicious but..i don't doubt it at all..

its a very well done fake if so :-)
As I stated earlier I dont believe its a fake either. Im not sure why anyone would do that. It would be a weird idea of fun and I would recommend them to examine their heads.

Not 100% fake, only 99% fake since the wireframe is very "far" from the model and appear on render (god only know why) as you can see on the render if you do that :
1 - Save as ATT.jpg
2 - Run Photoshop
3 - Open ATT.jpg
4 - Ctrl+L : input Levels 0 : 1,00 : 6
5 - *cough* Ctrl+Q
Nuf said.
