Title: Distant Illusion

Software:

First successful landscape done with povray, instead of Terragen. The terrain is an isosurface made of f_agate and f_dents functions. The clouds are media rendered using df3 density files, prepared with a Gilles Tran's MakeCloud macro.

Modelling and rendering: POV-Ray 3.6

Nice to see some work done with POV-Ray.

However, there are some things you need to work on:

1. The planet looks like a dome. It should be way more dimmed by the atmosphere. Also, the fact that you have too much details on the surface contributes to this.

2. The surf looks a bit weird. It almost looks like it's on top of the waves or something with a slight shadow.


The landscape is looking really good though. :)
Maybe you should try to enhance it further with adding some structure to get a scale of the image. A cottage.. and old bunker.. something.

Yes... indeed. I was fighting with this for quite a long time ;) Now I know how to achieve that, so I'll rework it.
