So, this started out in the speed painting thread, but I realllly want to develop this now!
This is the original 40 minute sketch. I usually work this way laying down values and figuring out the light source etc. Colorize was done at the last second to lend it a forest color. :)

I have a sneaking suspicion the perspective is slightly askew, so I will go back and lay down some lines to give me a better idea of this vantage point.
EDIT: OK, this is why you lay down some grids before you draw.
I can keep going and detailing, but I think set up some two-perspective without realizing it. ubern00b! ;) Help plz :love:
