Hello I am inking and coloring an animation im making in ToonBoom, and want to add light ( like gradation) effects using After Effects. Things like sun glare ( not lens flare) and such. I am very new to After Effects, whats the best way for importing animation done in toon boom as seperate layers in After Effects, like the background and the character as seperate layers. Thanks a lot and GOD bless!

save the layers in targa images with alpha channel enabled, and then import them in ae as sequence

Are targa files tga? If so i dont see any options for alpha channels in toonboom nor in even pga files. Hmm maybe i'm overlooking something?

To add an alpha channel to your ToonBoom animation - "choose millions of colors +" as your output option choice when rendering. (the "+" means an alpha channel is added) There's a drop-down menu to choose from. This can be used on a few codec choices - you have to go through them to find which one works for you. I know for sure it is a choice when using the "animation" codec. This applies to ToonBoom version 3.5 - not sure about older versions.

Good Luck!
