Howdy,

ok, so i am wondering, can you use a computer as a client if it only has net render client setup, but no other modules? how does that work if your file uses several modules?

thanks

It doesn't work.
Every client needs every module or plugin that is used in a scene installed, otherwise that functionality is simply missing and the image will be rendered incorrectly if at all.

They your scene will either report that it's missing the modules/plugins needed or used and not render, or your the output will not match the other clients that do have the modules on them. It's the same as loading in a scene into Cinema itself basically, if you don't have the plugins that someone else used on that scene, then you wont get the same results, and will probably have a lot of question mark icons dotted around your objects manager (or empty post effects in the render settings).

that's what i was afraid of. thanks

i missed out on the pc version of jenna, and am trying to setup a cross platform render farm. mograph suits my needs for jenna these days, but there are old scenes that use jenna quite a bit.

oh the pain. jenna, baby, why did you leave me?

next question in regard to this.

i am working on some animations for a client, and would like to access their mac's for creating a small render farm.

is it possible to load c4d net (with mograph module) without actually loading the c4d software onto their machines? i don't want to promote piracy.

thanks

Just use the installers that came with your package to install the Net Client and the needed modules on each render client.
Where and how you use and install your Net render license is up to you.
