I've worked on this all day today trying to meet a deadline. I would say that I spent about 6 hours on it total. I'm a newbie, but I'm needing to know if I'm starting to get the hang of this. Some post photoshop, mainly with the background, but other than that 100% LW.

All comments welcome. Good, bad, or ugly.

it's pretty cool for a logo design (no pun intended).

The "Construction Leaders" text begins to get lost in the background (white), and the melted water at the bottom may not be needed, as it adds a little confusion to the text.

One consideration you should pay attention to is, What will this logo be used on?

It's a pretty good logo for web and video - I could see a pretty cool animation for it, however, I don't think this would work so well in print. Especially on something like a business card, most of your detail would be lost, and the puddle would obscure the text in a format that small.

You may want to fine tune your kerning a little bit on the construction leaders text.

On the 3D aspects...looks great! I'd say you've got the ice down pretty well.

hope this crit helps!

the image is for a printed invitation. It will be a duotone (black and metallic silver) for the front of the invitation which will show through a vellum envelope. The image is based on thier company identity. If you were to use it on a business card, it would have to be done either as an image on the back or integrated with the actual logo somehow (I like the back).

The kerning on the text is fine. It's just the angle of the camera and the zoom.

Thanks for the feedback.
