View Full Version : First tutorial-less body modeling experience
Hey guys and girls,
I have recently taken the initiative to face my fears and attempt my first organic modeling experience, without a tutorial dragging me along. I must say, Its a lot of fun, and a great feeling!
I was hoping to get some good criticism, and I know it can be found here...... there is some mad talent on this board!
Anyways, getting to the point..... here is Irie's first torso. :buttrock:

thats a good start, what package and modelling technique are you using...?
Im using Lightwaves sub-d.
My favorite... although I am beginning to like Mayas Nurbs and nurbs in general..... Im modeling the torso thinking... "now where is that damned EP curve tool?"
Thanks for the compliment, makes me a bit more sure of myself :)

looking good.
seems like her waist might be a bit on the thin side tho, but that might just be personal preferance...
got a wireframe shot of the back? i've been having trouble getting my character's butt to look right..
Chris,
Thanks for the heads up about the waist, its strange how you can work for hours upon hours and not see the little details. I will fatten her up a little bit and see how she looks.
I would be glad to show you the wireframe...... although i cant promise that its right! :)

The models looking good so far but you need a bigger crease under the boobs, there a good size and shape but they dont hang enough. I find WWW.page3.com and invaluable breast reference site (especially Nikkla or Tara).
Good luck..........
Breasts are proving to be hard as hell to shape! You are right, they dont hang enough.... look a little too plastic i suppose.. or maybe she just has fake boobs.... damn Im lazy. :)
