Hey All--
I need some serious help.
What is the best way to map textures onto an extruded poly model??
I have tried time and time again by cant seem to figure it out.
Can somebody explain it to me like I was a 5 yr old???
I don't know if I should extrude and then delete history first or map first then extrude.
I have tried cylindrical mapping, automatic mapping.. they keep stretching.
I dont know if I need to normalize the UVs for what??
Somebody hit me with an email at jstr777@yahoo.com and I will send you a pic of the object in question.
Thx, Joe

Have you tried planar mapping? Or have you maybe considered UV Mapping? :)

thx for gettin back to me.
Nah, planar wont work in this situation.
I've built extruded faces into a cylinder to make a gear(ridges)
Still messin with it but nothings workin.

Then surely a cylindrical unwrap would work perfectly?

Hey great work on your site, Leigh!!!
Cant wait to see the in progress Wraith. Looks very cool.
I'll check into the unwrap you mentioned but I'm using Maya so I'm unfamiliar with that term.
Thx for your help and keep up the good work. J
