I have a trouble in Messiah, thing i never got before. Cause i never got so many poly in a scene alerady.

I have multiple objects loaded and when i do the render of each object there's no trouble, but when i render all, Messiah crach.

I try to add one by one all the object in different order to know which one cause the crach but i can't find it.
Is messiah limited in the number of poly or not? I know this question is a bit weird, But i haven't got any logical reason for now.

Thank ahead for your help.

What exactly are you importing? Characters, Props, etc.

What is the total scene polygon count?

Have you enabled displacements on any/all objects? If yes, is Metanurbs on for those objects?

Different users have different experiences loading different kinds of scenes. But in general, Messiah handles large scenes just fine.

I noticed you mentioned Messiah crashes when you hit render? This usually happens with displacements and MetaNurbs. But your case might be different.

More info?

Thank you to have replied quickly khurrum.
I remade all scene: do a new file, import object, rendered all in metaNurbs, included pictures in uv map, used reflection to all objects, Hybrid GI.
All gone right, Messiah don't crashes :).

Then now, i just need to modify basic properties. I don't think i will have troubles with that kind tunings. ...

The scene contains 126 000 (ridiculous i know, hum...! But i didn't find any solutions to my problem, then i needed whatever reasons :) )
Model is a vehicle. (what do you mean about "props" ! )

I thought it was bug in the file.
Is the name is important (name of file, objects imported, or whatever)?? i heard Number at the begining of names, espescially in expressions, can cause bugs.

Thanks.
David.

Thank you to have replied quickly khurrum.

No problem, your welcome.

The scene contains 126 000 ...

That's not an issue. Its not a lot.

...(what do you mean about "props" ! )

Props is any object other than your characters, vehicles, etc. They are all objects in the end.

Is the name is important (name of file, objects imported, or whatever)?? i heard Number at the begining of names, espescially in expressions, can cause bugs.

Naming your files and textures properly will help you get your job done on time. Other than that, no software will force you to name your objects in a specific way. Its just personal preference. So if you have a vehicle object, then you would name your vehicle's body color to something like "vehicle_body_main", etc.

Thanks.

Again, no problem at all.

NOTE
When you're writing expressions, YES, the names of your objects WILL matter, since you are trying to reference those objects directly. Expressions can't guess for you.

Messiah doesn't like LWO files with empty layers. Maybe that was a problem?

Thanks AlexK,
i built an other file and add all objects without any problems, and didn't change anything to object files.
I used *.obj and not *.LWO, but it's nice to know there's problem with empty layers, i'll pay more attention to that next time.

I had some similar problems and I am waiting for the answer myself. Each object rendered seperatly fine the scene was not so huge I have done bigger. The one in question was quite simple. It was very frustrating too.

Yep, there are definately some problems on high object/vertice/effect count scenes in messiah's rendermode.dll
I've reported it in the bug tracker. Go confirm it: http://www.stooch.net/messiah_tracker/view.php?id=54

On a previous project I had the scene crash on me for no apparent reason and the solution was simply to start with new scene and re-import everything and -- TADA -- problem gone. Never found out what it was - just moved on. Never had it again - a one-time thing only.
