Hi I'm kind of a newbee at painter 10. I got it a little while back ,but just now am I starting to become intrested in using it. The problem I'm having is I'm not able to make anything worth while. I think maybe I'm to use to photoshop cs2. I wonder if there are any painter tutorials or videos around becuase I can't seem to find any. I want to try and learn how to make realistic looking paintings or at least do something that looks descent ,but I am most intrested in making realistic looking people and faces. Any help would be much apperciated.

Hi.
Luckily there is a lot of good information about Painter on the web.

An excellent starting point, with a lot of useful links, is Jin Brown's Pixel Alley:

http://www.pixelalley.com/

Some splendid examples of Painter artwork are in the Rob's site:

http://www.ethereality.info/ethereality_website/main_page/home.htm

(see in particular the section "Goodies" for tutorials)

If you want some more traditional sources, I found very interesting the "Painter IX Wow book", by Cher Threinen-Pendarvis, and the new "Corel Painter official magazine":

http://www.paintermagazine.co.uk/showpage.php?page=About%20the%20mag

Hope this helps.

Antonio,

Thanks for mentioning PixelAlley as a good source.

Cnecktor,

If you pay a visit to Pixelalley, on the home page, right column, be sure to click the two following links:

Links to All Issues Painter IX Newsletter, The Painter Canvas, Tutorials, and Courseware
Links to All Issues Painter X Newsletter, The Painter Canvas, Tutorials, and Courseware

You'll find loads of tips and tutorials in those newsletters, plus what you'll find in the various sections of PixelAlley, especially in the section named:

New Tips and Tutorials by Jinny

Have fun!

Cnecktor,

Don't worry about it. Practice will get you where you want to go with painting.

Make it play instead of work and you'll learn a whole lot without stressing over it.

Happy painting!
