Hi!
I have got a problem with the Shaq: Hair dynamics. I checked the great Shag tutorials recently posted here but unfortunately they didn't cover dynamics.
After having calculated the dynamics everything seems to be fine and the hair movement is shown in the viewport. But once I hit the render button the dynamic status turns from valid to invalid and the animation is lost. In the helpfile I couldn't find any note on the reason for deleting the animation at the start of a rendering. Maybe you got any ideas?!

I don't know about it specifically, but I understand that there is a way to utilize SimCloth to drive the Shag:Hair hairs. Apparently the Shag:Hair dynamics aren't neccessairly all that hot, so someone came up with a way to pass that part on to SimCloth.

Idunno.. I thought maybe you could dig up the specifics and get your problem solved by simply not having to rely on Shag's stuff...

Oh yes, I remember having read about using SimCloth in combination with Shag: Hair. I'll try that! Thank you!

I've run into the same obstacle and was stuck pulling the dynamics right out of the hair to make a deadline:/ If you find anything on using simcloth to drive the shag hair please link to it here. I'll give it a shot as well. It's an excellent idea:thumbsup:

I just tried and it seems to be very simple. Putting the SimCloth modifier on the ShagView (previously converted to a Cloth Mesh) doesn't work in the Viewport but the rendering is fine. Yippi! :bounce:
I'll test it a while and maybe I'll do a tutorial because I loooove SimCloth!
