How would you all go about rigging a slinky?
The best solution so far seems to be a spline-spine setup using a curveInfoNode to get the arc-length. Problem with this is that the stretch is always linear. I'm having trouble thinking of a user-friendly(IE not a dozen controls) way to animate/simulate the non-linear compression that occurs when a slinky is in motion (The wave-like effect as the coils jiggle and compress).
Any Ideas?
I noticed there is another post about slinky-rigging with a few replies, but its about a year old so I thought I'd start one up...
Thanks !
