It looks very nice, but it does look more like an action figure. Some of the atomy and textures are off, mainly in the lower part of the body. I would really like to see a wireframe, and how many polygons you used, could you also post one without the textures. Besides some of my previous coments iI think it is very good, of the stuff i've seen from you, everything rocks:thumbsup:

O YEAH, the axe looks great, what program did you use to model the whole thing, did you use a different application to render the images. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET BRAZIL?:D

pablov
03-07-2003, 03:46 AM
The idea was to make it looks like an acction figure, that is the way I am presenting my demo reel.
well, I used Softimage XSI 3.0 and it was iluminated
with just direccional lights or infinits in xsi.
I gonna try to light up a little bit the images, and thank you very much for your feed back.

Really nice!! Love the detail:cool:

03-07-2003, 11:25 AM
maybe you should lighten up the background a little instead of your model...could make a huge difference as well

nice work otherwise.

Truely a wonderful piece of work!
Congrats! i like the proportiuons and the finesse in the armor and weaponry!

very dark and gloomy - but what I see is fine. The armor seems to be very complex and lavish.

nice model......man.....!!:applause:
i like the texture .....
modeling of the amor is really god.....
but one thing i gonna say is the face....
we can't really see the face cause of the hair....
the hair is bloking too much of the face....
will u setup this character for animation......is yes..
hope to see your animation...soon......:applause:

(/me puts his lower jaw back in place)

Awesome! Enormous detail on the armor and very nice texturing. I agree the image is a little too dark and it would be nice to see more of his face, but still it's an incredible piece of work!

Great work man, like everyone else I love the attention to detail on the armor!

Very very good work! But the face does look a bit flat. Weird... The details, especially on the clothes, are mind-boggingly well made.

eh
03-07-2003, 02:40 PM
The model and pose look great but the hair looks a little flat and lifeless, try giving it either some higlight or a little bit of motion and volume

If he'd be any more real he'd jump from the screen. Superb work. How long did it take to make ?

pmatlock
03-07-2003, 03:43 PM
I like it alot:beer:

the scene is very nice but a bit dark-

The only other comment i have is that if you want it to look like an action figure on a display stand, then it should look like its connected to the stand in some way. I noticed that part right away when i looked at the picture. Maybe its just me though.

Good work man!!

Do you have a backlight in there. If so you may try just birghtening it up. If not plop one in to make him pop off the background. Looks Great!

akela
03-07-2003, 04:44 PM
I agree with Stimpy... the modelling and texturing rocks, but the image needs better figure/background relation. Light up a little the background.
Anyways, it's a GREAT character. I like it as it is by now. :)

really nice a detailled character, you should try to rerender it with a dark grey background so we can see the silhouette.. and maybe add a backlight or something....
nice work!

If possible, I'd like to see some wireframes, textures, and some polycount specs on this guy. Is this for anything or just a demo model?

Cool! ,,,it appears a bit dark, but I think by just adjusting the background to a flat grey color will help bring out the details that otherwise gets lost in the black:applause:

YOu have done some really nice things here with this character, other than what's been mentioned and such its very very well modeled and textured. I would play with the lighting a bit and give him another pose, some more dynamic. Get the hair flowing in an action shot, have him use that killer weapon, and you'll see how much more you can really push this model. When you've updated the pic let me know, but for now :)

You have received the CGtalk choice award .Please feel free to display this image anywhere you like! Very good work.

upon receiving this award, it guarantees you a spot in the cgtalk gallery hall of fame (http://gallery.cgtalk.com) - which you are now placed

P.S. Please email me @ tito@cgnetworks.com for the award .psd file

The detail is amazing.

I think the model looks too much like a human. The concept drawing doesnt look like a human, but more like a beast with human charastistics. You could change the skin of your model, make it more hairy on the face.

Keep the good work up

hi guys, yes I really tried to follow the concep, but in 2d is different, was impossible to make the legs like the drawing,
looks horrible and missproportioned, so I changed a little bit.
well againg thank you for your replies.

Dude Mann, I want to see this guy sever some heads. The detail is excellent. I really like the aged look to his armour and his face. More contrast with the background would show off your work better though. I know you have nothing to hide.

Whoa!
That's one beaut of a model (with the amout of it I can see) :D

Don't like the hind legs though, but otherwise:

Maybe you should choose another background than black? Can't see the textures correctly and the armour kind of blends in into the bg.

Take care.
