Hello,

Do the extra channels in an EXR file show up in AE7 the same way as an RPF with extra channels in it would? Are the extra channels in the EXR file accessed through the 3D Channel Extract, Depth Matte, etc? I know the routine for RPF, I am wondering if EXR is the same procedure. Is there a layered EXR sample file anyplace for me to test with?
I'm contemplating buying a plugin for my 3D software that outputs layered EXR files. I can save out each channel separately now in its own file in EXR format. I'm trying to decide if there is a major benefit at the moment to using one layered file instead of several separate EXR files. If AE can easily handle the extra channels in one file, that would be nice to have everything packed in one file.

Thanks,
Bill C.
