Title: Concentration Camp - Auschwitz
Name: Jurek Rusin
Country: Poland
Software: Photoshop

This is one of 5 images I made for the Museum that is now located in the former German Nazi Concentration camp in Auschwitz. The images are supposed to be kind of maps for tourists vissiting the Museum. I used Graphisoft Archicad 10 for modeling and rendering as I use this software for a daily work as an architect. The image was renderen i two layers: one for the skech and one for colors. I had to put quite a bit work on Photoshop to bring this wotercolor feal to the picture.

All coments are most welcome. Thanks for viewing.

Wonderful. Very professional. I can't imagine making this purely in photoshop.
(Is this the wrong forum though? I don't know)

Nop. It has NOT been done on PS only. I used Archicad for modeling and render - and this is the right forum :) Thanks for the coment.

Hi there,

nice work.

2 questions though:

1) where is the oh so famous entrance? (this one: http://www2.nict.go.jp/y/y223/member/keizo/photos/auschwitz.JPG)
2) where is the railroad? (going trough the entrance)

Hi. Thanks for the coment.

As for the questions:

The entrance you are talking about is not in this camp. In Auschwitz there were two camps - Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II - Birkenau. The one on the picture is Auschwitz I and the gate and railroad was at the Birkenau camp (see the attachment).
Auschwitz I has also a famous gate with a very cynic inscription: "Arbiet macht frei", which means "Work will make you free".

A very good illustration to give orientation and an overview of the area. I#m impressed how you handled colour and design, producing a clear picture without becoming to colourful and thus very fitting to the subject.
