Hi guys,
Have been set a really fast turn-around project where I have to make 3d versions of famous racetracks for a sports programme - its the kind of isometric track view you get on all sports channels before races where they explain the track.
The track must be built in about 5 seconds (rather than just appearing) with maybe a wire frame building the track first before the track is filled in with a surface. The track must draw itself in essentially so I guess I need to get profile curves to flow along path curves by putting clusters on the CV's of the profile curves.
This is the way I am going to tackle it but I am sure this is not the best way - can anyone offer any tips on alternatives?

Thanks all!

Can you do any of this in post? An animated matte could be used to reveal the final track.

Other than that, an animated extrusion would probably be the easiest route.

I have also done animated sweeps to successfully do animations like this.

Hi guys,

nice one for your replies - I ended up birailing the curves for the track and then attaching clusters to the CV's as I mentioned in my original post.
Looks pretty cool too...although I could have easily it done it in post you're right - why i didnt think of this before I dont know!

Thanks guys :)
