Hey there folks this my first post and I'm hoping that you knowledgable folks can help me.

Been working in maya for ahwhile now and I do alot of Poly modeling. The problem I have found is that there are few ways to Bevel and no way to Chamfer Objects effectively while in the process. Not to compare packages at all but 3ds Max does this very well with version 5 being able to select any edge and Chamfer it to Smooth hard edges.

Is there a way to do this effectively as the Bevelling Tools in Maya aren't very interactive or is it just something I need to live with. thanks for any help you can give me. there are also very few of them. I have installed the Bonus game package and it basically adds only the Bevel Vertex tool. The generic bevel tool have relatively few options and seem to be kind of hit or miss in their application. If I'm merely missing a tool or not doing something right please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help.

im not too familiar with 3dMax but the bevel tool is pretty interactive. click on the Bevel operation in your history window while the object is selected. All the options should be there and if you click on one of these options then move your mouse with the middle button it is more interactive than just punching in # values. Im not sure if thats what you mean by interactivity, or if you mean just the overall lack of options for the bevel operation

The bevel tool is useless in Maya. Look for better solutions on highend3d.com.

Are there specific tools available any suggestions. :)
Some of these tools I read will be implemented into Maya 5. So what do you guys think I should bother with.

thanks again. :)
