Hello all!
I'm getting a team together for a project and thought I'd mention it to everyone here ...
How would you like to take 3 months (suggested amount of time) to travel to a new country and animate one or more short film ideas .. possibly yours .. with a team of talented and dedicated animators?
I plan to go away in August and spend a minimum of 3 months animating films for festivals or wherever we can show them. The idea came out of a discussion with a friend as we were talking about animating while travelling.
Imagine being in a foreign country, animating on a project that excites you with a team of people that you respect.
Which country? We don't know yet. We'll all decided democratically when we have an idea who's coming along. Preferably somewhere none of us have ever been before.
Who's film ideas? We don't know yet. We assume most people coming along will be creative individuals. Most will probably have a have short film idea or two of their own, so we'll all look at them all, and democratically decide which we should work on.
Who's invited? The best we can find! Please tell us what you're passionate about doing. My main interest is in getting the best team of animators together that I can find, but if you're a great modeler, rigger and/or texture artist, or anything else that you think you can contribute (eg, musician), then please get in touch and show us what you can do. Oh, and 2D too! We're not trying to alienate anyone. One of my ideas would require lots of 2D as well as CG.
Which CG package? We may all be able to use whatever our preferences are and bring it all together, or we may even get some sort of sponsorship which would dictate what we used. These are all things to be sorted out between now and going.
Can I afford it? We hope so! We're looking at several different options for funding, and will also be grateful of any assistance/advice anyone can offer in regards to this.

PS If anyone can think of a catchy title for this venture, then please let us know. "Project Animatravel" is the best we've managed so far :-)
