her looks pretty smooth for this low poly count
Reminds me of "Hitman - Codename 47"

That's quite nice. Is it for a game model? (Alien vs Predator? Looks like a marine pulse machinegun there)
If so it would be good to show off the wireframe itself too.

I'm wondering what the white stuff in his back legs are and there seem to be some visible seams between the front and back sweater. Overall the textures could need some detailing and shading to make it look more interesting. Like painted seams and stitches on the sweater, some dirt on the knees, etc.
Try not to keep the whites of the teeth and eyes that pure too.

The modelling is nice. Maybe the legs are a tad too short? the crotch should be in the middle of the body plus the added cloth above that, so overall a bit below middle. With 2500 polys you should also be able to smooth off the shoulders a bit more. Other than that it's cool and looks good in the pose you put him in.

Keep it up!

ur work has been and still is a big inspiration for me....and yepp its a pulserifle...its pic from the model that was made from the film....just smacked it on a Very lowpoly mesh,....wanted a rifle NOW so that was what had to do ...otherwise...i know that some parts of the model is a bit wierd....didnt know how to save polys...but now i have some ideas...and im still a real noobe at 3d..so have fait..i still think its really hard to make lowpoly maps nice...but its a learning proces..the shoulders u say....gotta look into that..*mental note to self*...heres a wireframe of it...please..moooore c&c...as i said im a noobe so i really need all the c&c i can get...i wanna get better

Hey thanks Flaviosen :)

Well, as I said it's a fine model. I usually model my characters with their arms pointing down 45 degrees. This lessens distortions at the shoulders during mapping and also by the geometry itself when he walks.

The polys look nice and clean. I can't directly see any fault in the structure so it's all just tweaking of form now :)

Take care

Hi Flaviosen !

Well i hope you still want critics and comments, because I have some for you ;)

Here we go :

- His legs : I think that his legs are a bit too much bent (seen on the side wireframe view). They appear a bit short to me too.

- His arms : it seems that they are bent a lot too, from shoulder to finger tips. It is quite strange :)

- The face : it is quite ok for me. Maybe just the ear looks a little too much like Mr Spock's ears ;) but maybe that's done on purpose.

- The map : it's a bit flat. I'm sure you can add detail and volume in it. I don't really like the pesudo "vintage" style of his pants on the back (butt and below...). And the hip and torso separation may be improved.

- The polycount : I think that you could have a more detailed mesh with that number of faces.

Well I think it's all for now. Anyway I think it is a good model, but I'm sure that you can do much better ! Go on and pull some vertices ;)
I'm impatient to see the result...

WOW - nice job. He's progressing really good. Tho, now with the new clothes, he looks like Picard from Star Trek :)

You said that you are doing a one-piece texture map. Any chance on posting it for us to view? Everyone posts their wireframes, but nobody posts their maps. Isn't there just as much artistic value in each? I understand that they are a little easier to "steal" from a post - so it's ok if you dont ....

I'm a newbie too, and I'd like to try this low-poly stuff. Anyone know of a good low-poly, step-by-step character creation tutorial?
